DIY Crane v2

Upgraded version of the DIY Camera crane built for V48 hours Changes ... Added a controllable head with 'lazy susan' system allowing for camera rotation. Attached a control rod to allow tilt control and the ability to keep the camera level. Cut the main pipe so it could be disasembled. Replaced the wooden pivot with a metal one. Added a secure way to add counterweights. Uses standard exercise weights for counter balance (about 20Kg). Ground and painted the main pipe to prevent rust Control bar is 2.4m long. Other sections are around 2.1m Total vertical movement at the camera mount is 3.8m

He helped with numerous intermedia projects across several schools by developing 3D graphics and other visual effects. Everybody benefitted from his generous attitude. Website developed for a project by Geoff Lealand researching a directory of independent New Zealand cinemas. Set up site, edited wordpress template, designed header graphics and icon. Developed a MySQL database and content management system to allow for easy adding and editing cinema details including location information for a Google Map overlay.

DIY Three Screen Stand

DIY - three screen installation created by Grant for a student installation. Two computers were used and Grant set up an Isadora/OSC communication over a small network which allowed the screens to be synchronised.

A metal pole,a metal stand, and some 4x2 timber that overnight Grant turned into a camera crane. Initially used for a team in the v48hrs furious film making competition. Subsequently used for a NZ on Air funded music video by the band Sleeptalkers called 'Where the Sun Hides'

First published software programme written by Grant using Applesoft Basic.
Version 1.1 1987 - Version 2 1989. Disk / Packaging / Image from the printed manual / Certificate from the programme.
The programme contained 30 multichoice screens with colour images. The user could choose to print a certificate at the end of the programme with marks for each of the 6 areas covered.
The disk labels and manual for the programme were printed using MultiScribe on a dot matrix printer.

Being the band for the Mt Albert Grammar School Ball and the Southside Streeters Hot Rod Club dance was great fun.
